When I first started blogging the very first review I did on my blog was Broken Dolls by Tyrolin Puxty. When I wrote it I made loads of spelling mistakes and forgot to spell check my review, I guess I was excited about have my first review on my blog that I just never thought to check the spelling. I have been blogging for just over a year and I love it, yes I still make mistakes and my reviews aren’t always long but I love what I do. I love getting to share with people my passion for books and doing reviews for the books I love. So I have included below my first review Broken Dolls (spelling mistakes included) and I am also going to put a review I have done for Shattered Girls which is the sequel to Broken Dolls. Some of you may think not much has change but to me I feel as though I am becoming better at reviews with each one that I write but I’ll let you make up your own mind.

My First Review - Broken Dolls: 5 stars

Broken Dolls is such a breathtaking read. I read this in almost one sitting it was truly captivating. I instantly fell in love with Ella and was eager to find out what was happening and what was going to happen. Whilst reading this, there was development after development. Just when I thought I had found out the plot, there was a twist that took it off in a completely different direction. I like all the characters in the story and wanted to know more about them. My feeling towards the professor changed so many times the more I read. I went from thinking he was just a crazy professor, then I didn’t like him very much but in the end I felt really sorry for him and understood why he did what he did. I just wanted to give him a hug, that’s how lost I got in the novel. I did love Ella at the beginning but by the end I found her really bitter and a little bit selfish. I know she went through a traumatic experience that affected her massively and I could understand her wanting to be cured but although the professor tried he wasn’t able to fix her and nearer the end when you find out what happens Ella is so mean to the professor and he already blames himself but he doesnt need Ella saying the things she did to him. I think she could have with time become at peace with her situation however she decided to run away from it. This was not a long novel however it packed a punch and left me wanting more. It is a novel that pulls you in and before you know it you are lost in the novel and are walking beside the characters and feeling everything they feel. A great read and I will definitely be picking up the next one when it comes out.

Robotic dolls - eerily similar to Ella - are popping up across the globe and nobody seems too concerned about it. Nobody except for Ella and Gabby.
With only the crazed Sianne left to help them, the girls must fight to find the truth behind the epidemic and the robotic dolls.
Only Ella doesn’t think they’re robotic at all…

My Thoughts

5 out of 5 stars

Well this book was amazing, I loved it just as much as the first one and Tyrolin Puxty’s writing is amazing. There is just something about her writing that pulls you in and just when you think you have got it, nope you are sent down a spiraling path away from what you thought.
I really enjoyed the plot of the story and it kept you wanting to read more to find out just exactly what was going on. The characters were really enjoyable as well throughout the story. In the first book I loved Ella but by the end didn’t really like her, however events that happened in this book have changed what I thought about her and I actually really like her as a character. Gabby was well written and it was great to see how she matured throughout the books. Lisa was well Lisa, a little crazy and you never know what her full intentions are. I don’t want to give away to many details because I don’t want to spoil it. I was wowed by the events that happened in the story and I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this series as it is a short, addicting thought provoking set of books and and as I said before I can not wait for the next one.

There you go, my very first review and a new review after some experience. I hope you enjoyed reading my post.
