Times a changing.
The world has entered into uncertain economic times (but when is it ever certain, really?). Technology is being credited with saving the same print news media that it was blamed for destroying a mere few months ago. And the publishing business? Undergoing severe growing pains. Keyword – pains.
Like a flinching reflex, Curiosity Quills was created in June of this year as a response to these pains – pains felt not by the publishers, but by a pair of aspiring YA authors. What started out as the personal homepage of Eugene Teplitsky and Lisa Gus, and their literary baby, Gatecrashers, soon gave way to a full-blown community of writers working together to support, encourage, and educate one another.
But as the community grew, we realized we were just tapping the tip of the iceberg – more help was needed than simply providing writers with a bullhorn. We had to go all in, or forever wonder why we didn’t.

And this brings us to Curiosity Quills Press.
The publishing arm of Curiosity Quills is the culmination of all the brainstorming, ideas, dreams, and investments that we have exchanged, mulled over, improved, and, ultimately – implemented.
We’re not coming to the game empty-handed, of course, in the most important sense for a publisher – we already have several authors working with us to bring new, original titles to market in innovative, exciting ways designed to make a splash in the era of shrinking royalties and similarly-shrinking attention spans.
We will be introducing our authors one by one, to give each of them a much-deserved time in the spotlight.

Today’s guest of honor, and our first announced author is…
Michael Shean
No stranger to the Curiosity Quills community, Michael was interviewed back in September right here on our blog, where his self-published dark sci-fi novel, Shadow of a Dead Star, made a big impact on the team.
So much so, that we couldn’t but court Mr. Shean into writing Bone Wires, a brand new serialized novella set in the same universe as his original hit, to be available exclusively via Curiosity Quills Press.
Needless to say, more information about Bone Wires – along with the cover and first installment – will be made available towards the middle of this month.
Until then, we hope you will check out Shadow of a Dead Star to (dare we say it?) bone up on what the Wonderland Cycle is all about, and stay tuned for a follow-up announcement in the coming days.
