I’ve done one of these where I was the author being interviewed but I’ve never before been the one to interview someone else, so I hope this goes ok.
Anyway, here is my interview with debut author Sander Crane.
Who is he? Only the first official ‘client’ of Videlicet Productions, who is not among the original founding members. He is currently working on a novel, The White Lotus, dealing with both ancient Chinese mythology as well as life in modern Beijing, and a collection of short stories, Bits of Paper.
His personal blog may be found here: http://sandercrane.blogspot.com
AC: Alright, so how is this supposed to work?
AC: Got it. First question: how exactly is this supposed to work?
AC: Oh. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. So tell me about the book.
AC: I thought I was supposed to be asking the questions.
AC: Just try it, tough guy. I’ll break your glasses. Moving on, what made you decide to release these stories now?
AC: Hey, I did a good job. Plus my sister went through and found all the typos. Besides, I am a professional editor.
AC: I got paid for it.
AC: Oh yeah…I did say that, didn’t I.
AC: Yes. Yes I do. So what do you think of the cover design?
AC: Dude, it’s on the right-hand side of this page. Right underneath “COMING SOON”
AC: Nah, I’m just messing with you. Steve is designing the cover. I’ve seen the initial sketches, and they look pretty good. I think you’ll be happy with it.
AC: Sure you are. Ok last question: how does it feel to be to be a fictional person?
AC: Yeah, I did. Remember?
Bits of Paper will be available soon (as soon as Steve finishes the cover, actually) for free on Smashwords and for 99 cents from Amazon—until Amazon drops the price to zero as well. It’s like a marketing technique, or something.
