Sharing, entertaining, and enlightening Curiosity Quills Press readers as part of his “Thoughts From the Heart” column, since September of 2011, the dynamic Irving H. Podolsky has seen his share of ups and downs in the creative process, and isn’t shy to turn his experiences into something everyone can benefit from.
What’s more – he’s not too shy to give away free books, either. That’s right – Irv’s giving away his entire trilogy, in print, to a lucky winner.
If you like a mind-bending adventure, with a deep and meaningful character growth and personal journey – Irving Podolsky has you covered. Be sure to read the first installment of his trilogy FREE on his book website.
Good luck with the giveaway, and enjoy the interview!
CQ: At what point in your life did you decide you wanted to write?
CQ: Have you ever had a “I wonder why I bother” moment?
CQ: The main character of your trilogy is Irv, the self-named protagonist of Irv’s Odyssey. How similar is the character to the author?
CQ: Similarly, you run two very distinct blogs. What sort of content should readers expect on each?
CQ: The books are set in the 70s. What made you choose that era? How much does the culture of the time affect the story?
Besides that, the seventies were filled with discovery, optimism, and more naivety. Even though we had the Vietnam War, those years were more innocent. Irv was innocent.
CQ: What do you find more conducive to writing – peace and quiet, music, or something else? Do you have any requirements of your working environment?
CQ: The Irv’s Odyssey series has some deep philosophical underpinnings – could you tell us a bit about them?
CQ: How self-contained are the books, and how strong / important is the over-arching plot? Could a reader pick up To The Light and Beyond (book 2) and enjoy it without the previous?
CQ: What message, if any, do you want people to take away from Irv’s Odyssey?
CQ: Which authors do you think have most influenced your style?
As far as my writer’s style is concerned, there is no particular author I try to emulate. Irv’s voice came to me pre-set and channeled as he narrated his story inside my head. I just listened and typed his words. Of course I write with other voices and styles as well, as I’m doing now.
CQ: Do you have any other projects in the pipeline at the moment?
